LA CROSSE, Wis. — The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed at least two tornadoes touched down in Wisconsin during Wednesday night's storms.
On June 25, an EF-1 tornado, with estimated peak winds of 90 mph, touched down in La Crosse County. It developed near State Highway 33, south of Barre Mills. NWS reported "extensive tree damage" as a result of the tornado in the Valleywood Springs area.
A second tornado also touched down in La Crosse County. NWS classified it as an EF-0 tornado with estimated peak winds of 80 mph. It developed east of La Crosse and damaged trees in the Valleywood Springs area.
NWS said while the two tornadoes were just 10 minutes apart, they each had "distinct circulation and debris signature on radar."
This brings Wisconsin's 2025 tornado count up to 24 confirmed tornadoes.
