WISCONSIN — As wildfire smoke from Canada continues to impact the Badger State, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has issued another Air Quality Advisory for 14 counties in Wisconsin.

The new advisory for specific counties goes from noon on Thursday, June 5, to noon on Friday, June 6. 

The following counties are included in that advisory: Brown, Door, Kenosha, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Milwaukee, Oconto, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha

The advisory falls into the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" category.

The DNR said that smoke should dissipate heading into Friday, with conditions improving for west to east throughout Thursday.

The DNR said sensitive groups should be cautious, and advised rescheduling, or moving, all activities inside. Those with asthma should follow their action plans and keep a quick-relief medicine handy, officials said. If you have heart disease, the DNR said to pay attention to symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath or unusual fatigue.

If you have symptoms related to air quality, the DNR said to go inside.

Officials said Saturday’s forecast will look similar to Friday with a chance for another system of smoke moving into Ontario on Sunday. The DNR said it will continue to monitor conditions.
