FREDONIA, Wis. — A “heavily armed” person is holed up in their home in Fredonia, according to the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office.

The situation is happening on Fox Glen Road. Power was cut to the Fox Glen neighborhood early this morning, but has since been restored.

The sheriff’s office said St. John’s Church and day care, which are nearby, are also closed today because of the incident.

Sheriffs cautioned residents around 5:57 a.m. on Fox Glen Road, Pheasant Lane and Partridge Lane to either stay in their homes or have an officer escort them out of the area.

The latest update told residents who live on Edmaro could leave going south but that they should use “extreme caution.”

Officers said they have been trying to de-escalate the situation, but that the person was refusing to cooperate.
