GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers are holding a rookie orientation camp this weekend for the 11 players they drafted last week, as well as undrafted free agents.

First-round draft pick Jordan Morgan from the University of Arizona said he hopes to earn a starting spot on the offensive line to help protect another Jordan: Quarterback Jordan Love.

“My goal right now is to gain the trust of the coaches and the coaching staff, the players,” said Morgan.

Morgan played left tackle at Arizona. He is slated to compete with Rasheed Walker for that position in Green Bay. Some have said Morgan will eventually be moved to guard.

“I played tackle today,” said Morgan. “I’m trying to show them that I am a true left tackle. I can be out there on the edge and protect the QB. I get that a lot, the short arm stuff. They obviously haven’t watched film. I use them pretty well. I move people off the ball, I pass protect pretty well, you can check the stats. It doesn’t bother me. I am just going to prove everybody wrong.”

Second-round draft pick, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper from Texas A&M University, said he hopes to put his imprint on defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s new 4-3 defensive scheme.

“Play as much as I can, work as hard as I can and prepare myself,” said Cooper. “I made a promise to myself to go 110% every day and be ready for Sunday nights.”

Another second-round pick, safety Javon Bullard from the University of Georgia, did not hesitate to mention the top trait he brings to the Packers.

“Physicality,” said Bullard. “Physicality. I mean, like I said, the games will be played one way and one way only. And you know, as physical, fast and physical. So really just a physical aspect and passion, just a love for the game, my passion. Just come in and work. You’re doing the same thing. Like going to college, man. Nobody’s giving it to you.”

The Packers rookies practiced Friday afternoon with another practice set for Saturday.
