With Pride Month celebrations happening around parts of Southern California, a group in Glendale is hoping to join in on the festivities.
A local organization called GlendaleOUT is hoping the city will pass a motion that would see up to $5,000 put toward funding for a pride picnic event to be held in Glendale on Saturday.
Members of the organization said they feel like Glendale City Hall can do more to support the LGBTQIA+ community.
City Hall said it already has shown a lot of support for members of the local LGBTQIA+ community, and is happy to provide the funding to a registered nonprofit to help facilitate the event.
Local officials said the reason they could not issue the funds to GlendaleOUT is because it is not registered as a 501C3 organization.
