OSHKOSH, Wis. — This year's EAA Airventure is roughly a month away, set to run from July 21 through July 27. Organizers are prepared for big crowds and a lot of happy reunions.
"People from more than 90 countries will show up to Airventure each year," said Drew Stephani, communications director for EAA. "A lot of these people don't get to see each other any other time of the year except for when they're in Oshkosh, so you get to meet all sorts of new friends and catch up with some old friends."
Stephani said planning to welcome thousands to the Oshkosh area is always a challenge, but so too is planning for some new events and attractions every year.
"We determine what's possible on the features and attractions side, and also on grounds improvements," Stephani said. "As far as features and attractions, one of the big ones this year is Goodyear. Goodyear's often known for the Goodyear Blimp, and they're not bringing one, but two, this year."
