PEWAUKEE, Wis. — Washington authorities are searching for a Pewaukee native after his three daughters were discovered dead.
Police said 32-year-old Travis Decker is wanted for three counts of Murder 1st degree and Kidnapping 1st degree.
The three girls — a 9-year-old, an 8-year-old and a 5-year-old — had been reported missing by their mother on Friday, May 30. She told Wenatchee Police they hadn’t returned from a planned visitation with their father, Decker.
As soon as officers were notified of the missing status, they began trying to find Decker and the children.
Police said they believed Decker was living out of a white, 2017 GMC Sierra pickup. Police said that vehicle was entered into the Flock database, which showed the pickup traveling westbound on Highway 2 from Wenatchee on the day the girls were reported missing.
An Endangered Missing Person Alert (EMPA) was issued on Saturday, May 31 and police continued to investigate through the weekend.
Police said based on some information that developed, they believed Decker and the three girls were still in Chelan County, the area they were searching. The search area was then narrowed to between Icicle Road and Chumstick Road, near Leavenworth.
Police got a warrant for Decker’s arrest on three counts of Custodial Interference 1st degree.
On June 2, police located Decker’s vehicle near Rock Island Campground but it was unoccupied. Upon finding the vehicle, police lead a search around the immediate area and found the bodies of the three missing girls.
“We want to express our sincere and deep heartfelt condolences to the family at this time,” Wenatchee Police Department said in a release.
However, they did not find Decker.
He’s still missing and police are requesting help from the public. They advised the public to exercise caution, as it’s unknown if Decker is armed and he has an extensive military training background. They said he “may post a significant risk” and to not approach or attempt to contact him.
Police are asking anyone who thinks they may have seen Decker since Friday, May 30 or knows his whereabouts to call 911 immediately.
