TOLEDO, Ohio — The Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office said a four-day sting resulted in eight people arrested in connection to child sex crimes.

From June 19 to June 22, the Ohio Internet Sex Crimes Against Children performed an undercover operation, called Operation Safe Harbor, which investigated individuals who were soliciting minors online.
According to a release from the Prosector's Office, law enforcement officers posed as children ages 12 to 15 online and engaged with the individuals. Those individuals traveled to pre-arranged locations, thinking they were meeting with a minor.
Law enforcement officers arrested them when they arrived.
"This operation underscores the proactive and collaborative approach law enforcement is taking to address a growing threat in the digital age," the news release said.
The following people were arrested:
- Robert Neuenschwander, 75, of Delta, Ohio
- Luis Romero Perez, 29, of Toledo, Ohio
- Noelan Winston, 23 of Huron, Ohio
- Stephen Walterbach, 43, of Marblehead, Ohio
- Keith Geyer, 46, of North Royalton, Ohio
- Ryan Thomas, 40, of Swanton, Ohio
- Larry Clark Wymer, 35, of Whitehouse, Ohio
- Adam Smith, 38, of Oregon, Ohio
On a national level, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Border Patrol, Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service were involved in the operation.
At a local level, agencies that assisted included Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children, Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office and its Major Crimes Unit, Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center, Tiffin Police Department, Sandusky County Drug Task Force, Port Clinton Police Department, Oak Harbor Police Department, Perrysburg Police Department, Defiance Police Department and Danbury Police Department.
