CLEVELAND — Operations at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport were paused temporarily Tuesday amid an incident in which a man allegedly jumped an airport fence, according Airport Communications Specialist Michele Dynia.

This occurred around 11:30 a.m. after an accident on Brookpark Road, she said in an email to Spectrum News 1.

“Preliminary information reveals that one of the occupants then exited their vehicle and jumped the fence to the airport,” her email reads. “An Operations Agent located the male and apprehended him. Police and ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting) were called out to the location of the suspect.”

A ground stop was issued while the individual was being apprehended, but the Dynia confirmed that airport operations have since resumed.

She also confirmed the incident is under investigation.
