MADISON, Ohio — Northeast Ohioans might have felt some shaking beneath their feet Sunday night. 

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded a minor 2.5-magnitude earthquake at 10:48 p.m. Sunday in Ashtabula County, a little over four miles east-southeast of Madison in Lake County.

The USGS said the depth was about 3.1 miles, and individuals near the area reported "weak" or "light" shaking in areas like Ashtabula and Painseville, which are areas both about 13 miles away from the epicenter.

This earthquake comes just a few days after a streak of earthquakes in southeastern Ohio.

Last year, Ohio endured nearly 130 earthquakes. More than 100 earthquakes have been recorded so far this year in the Buckeye State, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
