LANCASTER, Ohio — Odds are if you're a regular at the Fairfield County Fair and set foot in the arts building, Grange Hall, you've likely seen Noah and Joyce Blosser serving donuts. 

The Blossers have been married for 46 years, but what's even more impressive is that the two have volunteered and competed at the annual fair for 60 years. 

The Blossers, like many others, call the Fairfields County Fair, the "last and best" of the season. 

“It's fall time, and we've got all the corn and the pumpkins and that kind of thing. The colorful, more colorful than what you have in the summer time, you don't have all those things that are out on display or they're not ready for display,” said Joyce. 

The Blossers have 60 entries this year in Grange Hall, from canned pickles and baked goods to turnips, sweet potatoes and broccoli. 

“Nice uniform head, and since the fair is the last one, you have to plant it at the right time,” said Noah.

They also entered an old favorite: a secret family recipe for angel food cake, a perennial winner. 

“Won several years on it — 60% goes to the baker, and then 40% goes back into the fairgrounds, money for help for improvements,” said Joyce. 

The Blossers, who raise chickens and grown corn, soybeans and wheat with the help of their children on their Lancaster farm, said above all, the Fairfield County Fair is about community and friendly faces they get to see each year. 

“I always enjoy the fair. I always enjoy the people. I enjoy working down there at the donut booth because you see people that you don’t see otherwise,” said Joyce.

The Fairfield County Fair is located off State Route 37 in Lancaster and runs through Saturday.
