BRUNSWICK, Ohio — A new family-friendly haunted attraction opening in the Buckeye State this weekend is hoping to bring spine-tinging horror to its customers.

  • For $20 a car, customers receive a gift bag and a slow spooky ride through the wash
  • The haunted wash is free for existing car wash members
  • It opens this Friday night at 9 p.m.

It’s something you may have never seen before.

It’s a haunted car wash ride and it’s the first of its kind in Northeast Ohio.

For the first time ever, Rainforest Car Wash in Brunswick will transform its jungle theme car wash into a haunted Halloween experience.

“Our attendants will be dressed up in scary costumes, they’ll be scaring people in the lot, scaring people in the tunnel, we’ll have everything decorated from the pay machine all the way through the exit of the tunnel. It’s just like a haunted house, except you're trapped inside your car,” said Anthony Bencivenni, district manager for Rainforest Car Wash.

For $20 a car, customers will receive a gift bag and a slow spooky ride through the wash, while also getting a cleaned car.

The haunted wash is free for existing car wash members.

Rainforest Car Wash says the staff has been planning for this all year long.

“There could potentially be a line that’s wrapped all the way down the street," said Bencivenni. "In the wintertime, at our busiest, we get cars all the way down the street, so we are expecting to stack some cars up."

The haunted car wash is open Friday, October 18 and Friday, October 25 from 9 a.m.-11 p.m. It’s also open Saturday, October 19 and 26 from 6 p.m.-11 p.m.
