WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester Red Sox worked out and met with the media on Wednesday before they go on the road for the 2024 season opener later this week.

The WooSox's first home game is next Tuesday, when they host the Buffalo Bisons.

They got a couple practices on the home turf since ending spring training in Florida.

Manager Chand Tracy said by the end of every season, they're ready to be done. But when the next season starts, the excitement returns.

"When you get to the end of the season, you're kind of excited cause you're exhausted and you get to go home and see your family and this and that, and spend time with them and have Christmas and all that," said Tracy. "And then you get to the new year and you are kind of like, 'where's baseball, you know?' We've been itching for a while, and then had a good camp. A lot of these guys had a good camp, and we're ready to go."

The WooSox leave Thursday to take on the Phillies top affiliate Lehigh Valley on Friday.
