WORCESTER COUNTY, Mass. - A new partnership will provide a virtual way for people to help treat their addiction.

Spectrum Health is partnering with Tufts Health Plan and Pear Therapeutics to use the app Reset-O.

Spectrum Health said the app is a 12-week prescription digital therapeutic for patients with opioid use disorder in outpatient treatment.

It provides therapy, coping strategies, and a chance for patients to even earn rewards.

"You can gain a gift card that’s electronic and nontransferable and it comes to your phone wherever the app is registered for like Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts as you hit the markers. It helps people want to come into the want to use the app. So it incentivizes," said Spectrum Health Chief Operating Officer, Sherry Ellis.

"You download the app and then you do those modules in your spare time at home or wherever you are and then your clinician can see the work you’ve done when you are in session with them," said Director of Innovative Initiatives Pam Weissman.

Spectrum Health started using the app last week and says they're hoping to get more patients using it to help treat addiction.
