TEXAS — A list of potential targets from the suspect in the murder of former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband included two Texas representatives.

Representatives Veronica Escobar and Joaquin Castro were named in the list of 45 potential targets by 57-year-old Vance Boelter, who faces federal murder and stalking charges, plus state charges.

Castro's team confirmed to Spectrum News that he was on the suspect's list.

“Sunday morning I was notified by Capitol Police that I was one of the names on the Minnesota shooter’s list of targets,” Escobar wrote on X.

Authorities in Minnesota reported that former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were killed on Saturday in Brooklyn Park by a suspect in a police uniform.

Authorities say he also shot Sen. John Hoffman, a Democrat and his wife, Yvette, who lived just a few miles away.

It is unclear at this time if there were any other Texas representatives on the list of suspected targets.
